Our Lake Tahoe Trip

A couple weeks ago we went to Lake Tahoe with our friends from San Diego. It was a really fun 3 nights. We went sledding and played a lot in the snow. The last night there we go 12 inches of snow and had no power for 24 hours. We had to put our food outside to keep it cold and we all bundled up by the fire for heat. It got down to 8 degrees that night. It was a little scary, but we have really good memories of it that we will never forget. It ended up being really fun.

Gingerbread Houses and Fall

I thought it would be fun to make a gingerbread house together with the kids. They were definitely more interested in eating it than putting the candy on it (to be expected)! It was fun and we got about halfway done before we just decided to let them dig in :)

Luke and Mia are 2!! We celebrated their 2nd Birthday with our families last weekend and it was so much fun!! Friday we had over Jim's family and Saturday my family. It was a party weekend.

This year we had to put our Christmas tree up high so that the kids don't destroy it, so we got a small one and it works great! I also saw a really cute idea on another blog that used yarn instead of ribbon to decorate presents. I added the burlap and it turned out pretty cute! It was only $2.99 for the yarn and $2.99 for a yard of burlap.

This year we had Thanksgiving at our house, my mom and dad, brother and sister-in-law and their two kids came over. It was my fisrt time cooking the Turkey by myself and I was surprised to see how easy it was. Everyone brought something too, wich helped make the wole meal great!! The best part of having Thanksgiving at our house was getting the leftovers!

OK...I am getting really annoyed! I have been trying to get my Thanksgiving pictures up on this blog and every time I start uploading pictures my computer restarts and erases everything! I don't know if it my computer or the blog, but it only happens when I am on the blog! So annoying! Anyways Thanksgiving pictures to come..soon I hope!

A couple weeks ago we decided to head down to Old Town Sacramento. It's only about 12 minutes away from us, but for some reason we don't go there as often as we should. We also went to the State Capital too. It was a fun day hanging around Sac.

This year Halloween was so much fun with Luke and Mia being a little older!

We went to the Pumpkin Patch and picked out pumpkins and there was a bounce house there. They LOVED it!!

A couple days ago I was in our office with Luke and Mia and I turned around to see that they had dumped all the paper out of the shredder. It was a mess and it made it's way onto every square inch of the floor. I figured since it was already everywhere I might as well let the kids have fun in it...and they did!

Saturday we decided to take the kids to the zoo! It was such a fun day! Mia and Luke love animals, so it was really fun for them to see them up close.

We're on VACATION!!!

Here we are on Vacation in Newport Beach! We are having a great time so far and have already done so much. Luke and Mia are loving it!!

On the way down we stopped in Beverly Hills and drove around. We stopped at a park and let the kids play. We were the only people their with our kids. The rest of the kids there were with their nannies...haha... soooo Beverly Hills!

This park was amazing! You can't really tell from the pictures, but it was surrounded by beautiful landscaping and mansions. So neat!

On Tuesday Jim got of work early and we went to the California State Fair! Mia and Luke loved it. Here they are loving the water fountains!

Last Weekend we decided to head up to Lake Tahoe for a day at the beach and to escape this Sacramento heat wave. It was so much fun, the kids loved the playing in the water!

What a fun Fourth of July we had! We went to Lake Camanche for the weekend and stayed at the cabin. It was so nice up there. The kids were great and played outside went on the boat and swam in the water. They are so lucky to have so many cousins their age!

My New Window Treatments

For a while I had been trying to decide what kind of blinds to put up in our bedroom, Jim and I went back and forth about blinds or shutters. Then I thought oooh! Wooden Roman blinds would look neat. So we got some different prices on them, and it looked like it was going to be really expensive. Like $200-300.oo. RIDICULOUS! So I gave up on that idea but then at Target(my favorite store) I saw these for $19.99 each! I wasn't sure they'd be the right size, but they were! And I love them!! For $40.00! Jim was very pleased!!

A while back when we were at Toys R Us I saw some little paint markers for babies. I thought it might be a fun thing for Mia and Luke to play with. I didn't know what I was getting myself into. After about 20 seconds they were tasting it. So I decided to let them dip their own spoons in some yogurt. They insist on feeding themselves. They loved it, but it got pretty messy!
